I was a member of this group for 25 years and I would like to write a very short appraisal about this movement...The following will be just my ideas and I am not saying that I am right or wrong. However with 75 years on this planet, I think this does give me the right to give my own opinion...

I would like to start totally positive...before I met the COG I was looking for a way to serve JESUS CHRIST. I was already crazily in love with HIM AND AT THE SOUND OF THE NAME JESUS BEING MENTIONED, TEARS WOULD WELL UP IN MY EYES.

I tried all the local radical PROTESTANT groups..the navigator missionaries was the closest that I could find but they were anti charismatic or PENTECOSTAL.

I went on a fast which lasted 29 days..shortly after this I met the cog.

Here I was able to PUT my total reliance in Him. I learned to put into practice a life of total faith.

As I look back I can see one really big area of false doctrine. THE CROSS OF CHRIST.. Now an empty cross represents an instrument for the death penalty rather like a gallows or an electric chair or a firing squad. We were taught that there was no longer any reason to emphasise the cross because JESUS has risen from the dead..the salvation tract that we distributed was called the baby tract..we were told in the tract that JESUS took our spanking for us.... A closer look at the real cross experience as portrayed by Mel Gibson in THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. As portrayed by the Hollywood actor Jim Kavesel shows that this sacrifice was a great deal more than a spanking....PROTESTANTS fall into this heresy very easily too. Most of the 30,000 different disunited denominations would also take up this point of view?. We have to remember that satan or the devil or lucifer absolutely abhor the cross as do Muslims and all other religions... WHY???? BECAUSE IT IS ON THIS CROSS THAT THE BATTLE AGAINST EVIL WAS WON FOR GOOD AND FOR EVER BY THE SON OF GOD JESUS CHRIST. The battle of CALVARY should NEVER be belittled.. If you do then like the cog you will soon be off track. That is why this group does not exist today and that is why Protestantism has no unity and no real force in the world.

Dear J. Let me begin by saying your programme yesterday was brilliant. 

It was three hours packed and very well m.c.d by bob.

I didn't really understand the pseudo arguments against the gyro but it does seem that the gyro really is a super undeniable proof that the earth does not move and on top of that is flat flat flat.

OK so that is your judgement and you have given me your reasons. 

So you do not have to tell me more but maybe you could listen to my arguments which I have not yet stated in the few chats that we have had so please give me your ear. 

I asked Jesus Christ to come into my heart about 50 or so years ago just about the time that Winston Churchill died..1965 51 years ago. My reason for asking him into my heart came from about three different verses in the New Testament.John 1:12...Revelation 3:20".....and 1 John  5:11&12.  

Now my experience just after asking Him into my heart was really very generous of Him. I was always out to prove Him to see if He really loved me. 

I asked for ridiculous prayer requests that I would not dream of asking now because for me he is tested tried and proven, and I have more serious and important

matters to ask Him.

I would come down the steps of the underground in London and would say things like " if you love me, please may the Wimbledon train be arriving as I step on the plat form."  

Time after time this actually happened and I would smile and say ok thanks.. 

The bible was really all I believed in and a baptist missionary group called the Navigators, and a young man called Ed Rice, would meet me in the lunch hours and take me through a simple question and answer Bible study where the answers were written in bible verses that i had to look up

There were the following subjects...assurance of salvation..growing in Christ..and sharing your faith with others.

We also committed key verses of the bible to memory in their famous topical memory system. These memorized verses even after fifty years are ingrained in my memory and are a great blessing to me today. 

I then experienced a  phenomena which Christians call the baptism in the Holy Spirit.. 

The navigators did not agree with this Pentecostal experience and so I parted company from the navs and started to look for one of the thousands of denominations to be my home.

I tried many and found that ALL OF THEM HAD VERY LITTLE LOVE FOR LOST SOULS AND THEY NEVER DREAMED OF LIVING ENTIRELY BY FAITH AND JUST WINNING SOULS AND TEACHING THEM TO WIN OTHERS. We called this in the Navs the 2 Timothy 2:2 vision.

Let me quote this one...AND THE THINGS THAT THOU HAST HEARD FROM ME AMONG MANY WITNESSES, THE SAME COMMIT THOU TO FAITHFUL MEN WHO WILL BE ABLE TO TEACH OTHERS ALSO. 

HERE we see a mathematical progression which turns into multiplication and although having a small start soon builds up.

2 becomes 4 becomes 8 becomes 16 becomes 32 and then with just 20 more similar jumps, we reach the whole world. 

It would be great if flat earthers would adopt this method instead of the infighting and we would soon reach the world of 8 billion. 

I got absolutely desperate and someone suggested that I go on a fast and this I did for 29 days without solids just water with a little lemon juice.

Then through only what could be called miracle situation, the Children of God sect visited my home in Wimbledon. 

Here was a group that were doing just the opposite to the rather dead churches and I remained with this group for twenty five years. 

Sadly they deviated from the simple promises of the bible and were soon hopelessly off track. So here we are back to the one yard stick which has remained constant down through two thousand years of His Story..

Now to tell you of a very recent miracle that happened to me in the last two months.. My mum who died at the age of 74 had many rather unsuccessful hip operations. 

I am already three years older than her so I'm doing pretty good.  My dad was 9 years older and died three weeks after my mum which was actually a blessing as they were a devoted couple and my dad would not do very well without my mum who was the life and soul of the marriage and yes they adored each other. 

I started having pain with my ball and socket joint bones, just like my mum, of my left hip. 

I could actually wiggle my hip back into place and walk without pain for a few yards before ball and socket would get in the wrong position, and the pain would start again.

I was prescribed a free walking stick and I began imagining having one of those push trollies that you can actually sit on. The more I used the stick, the more it just seemed to get worse. 

Eventually I decided to just TRUST THE LORD AND TO HELL WITH THE PAIN..

THEN about four weeks ago I woke up and yes there was a little pain like a residue but by the end of the morning I was walking normally and have been without one twinge for four weeks. 

Twenty years ago while in the Ukraine my left knee just gave away and I hobbled around with a great deal of pain. 

Just next door lived by an amazing coincidence lived one of the very best and well known knee specialists in Ukraine, and as I was a missionary living off donations, he said he would operate on me for free. 

A heaven sent opportunity.. He told me not to delay as after examining me he knew exactly what was happening and that he promised me it would only get worse. 

I thanked him and said I was just going to wait a couple of days which I did and of course I was hollering out to Jesus, and the pain disappeared. Never came back in over 20 years. 

By now I did not just believe in the word of God but I knew that the promises were true. 

2 Peter 1:4 it says.  .... Whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises and that by these we might become PARTAKERS of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 

I would tell people that my three priorities were Number one...THE WORD..number two...THE WORD ... and of course number three...THE WORD. 

I HOPE THAT WAS A HELP AND I REALLY APPRECIATE BEING YOUR FRIEND AND I SUPPORT THE FLAT EARTH MOVEMENT IN MY DAILY PRAYERS.
