NOW AS WE FOLLOW THESE LINES DOWN INTO THE SOUTHERN HEMIFLAT, WE WILL NOTICE THAT THEY START NARROWING UNTIL THEY COME TOGETHER AT A POINT AT THE SOUTH POLE...

NOW IT WILL BE VERY PLAIN TO SEE THAT THERE IS NO JUST NIPPING ACROSS FROM SOUTH AMERICA TO SOUTH AFRICA, A RELATIVELY SHORT DISTANCE ON A GLOBE EARTH BUT A VERY LONG DISTANCE ON FLAT EARTH MAP...????!!!!
